Abstract

A second burial chamber near Großenrode, only 60 m away from Grave I, shows an amazing mixture of architectural elements, combining non-megalithic ("dendric") and megalithic features. The entrance consists of a so-called "Lochstein" (perforated stone), which is a typical feature of the gallery graves of Hesse and Westphalia. Finds and radiocarbon dates confirm a close chronological relation between Grave I and II.
