Is hominid phylogeny about to undergo a rethink? Critical reflections on the definition and temporal delimitation of the animal-human transitional field

Abstract

New findings require new hypotheses! Impartiality and open-mindedness towards new findings are of such existential importance for no collecting discipline as for hominid phylogeny.
However, the constant use of critical judgment and the ability for self-control prove to be equally necessary.
