Abstract

Stone Age artefacts of the central Teutoburg Forest offer the possibility of tracing activities of the Neolithic and Early Bronze Age period in a mountainous region not well suited for early farming. Different types of arrowheads and axes correspondingly prove the utilization of forest resources starting with the Rössen Culture (c. 4800 BC) and continuing through Michelsberg, TRB Westgroup, Beaker Cultures and the Early Nordic Bronze Age.
