Ein spätbandkeramisches Erdwerk bei Usingen im Taunus
Main Article Content
Abstract
In 1999 a causewayed enclosure of the late Linearbandkeramik (Linear Pottery Culture) was discovered near Usingen in Hesse (c. 25 km north of Frankfurt). The ditch-system is part of a small settlement concentration detected by surface collections over the last years. Located in the Taunus highlands and in considerable distance to the main distribution centres of the Linearbandkeramik, the Usingen enclosure indicates a remarkable (short-term) extension of the Neolithic settlement areas around 5000 BC. This interim report by Eckhard Laufer gives an overview over the current state of research.
